LE&RN is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded in 1998 to fight lymphatic disease through education, research, and advocacy. Lymphatic diseases include lymphedema, lipedema, and lymphatic anomalies. Learn more about its mission.
In response to a bill written by LE&RN, the United States Senate established
World Lymphedema Day as March 6, in 2016. The goal of the annual advocate-driven celebration is to educate the world on all lymphatic diseases through community events, fundraisers and other activities. Check out some of the celebrations from 2026 on LE&RN’s social channels, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
The LE&RN Resource Center offers resources and access to professionals that can help people with lymphedema and other lymphatic conditions find support and answers to questions about proper care. Advocacy Day, April 22
LE&RN’s Advocacy Day is open to individuals living with a lymphatic disease, their family members and friends, as well as researchers, clinicians and healthcare professionals who support affected individuals. Participants will meet with policymakers and congressional staff in Washington D.C., April 22, to share patient and community perspectives that underscore the urgent need for sustained federal leadership and investment in lymphatic research and care. Online registration is open until Wednesday, April 15.
